The Age of Psychic Discovery<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In actual fact, while some psychics remember their first psychic experiences early on, there is no particular age where we can first discover our psychic senses or experience psychic phenomena or spirit visitations.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Asking just some of the Psychic Pages psychics and mediums how and when they first discovered their psychic skills, gets us a great variety of answers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some psychics do indeed recall having their first experience at a very young age. Such first-time psychic events are that they saw a spirit, had an \u201cinvisible friend\u201d, or were able to see colours or auras. Others recount beginning to \u201cknow things about people\u201d at a slightly later age.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

One psychic recounted the story of how he found the family dog lying down outside and looking uncomfortable. He felt he needed to sit down by the dog and lay his hands on him. As he leant towards the dog, he saw colours and felt a vibration. He ran his hands over the dog and could \u201csee\u201d the dog\u2019s problems and feelings in colours. It was here he first experienced his psychic gifts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Later Psychics<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There are also quite a few people who are now professional psychics, who seem to have first realised their psychic gifts when they were teenagers. If we think about this, this also has some logic. It is a time in our lives where we start seeking our own independent thoughts, and pursuing our own interests avidly. So, it is at this age that many psychics got their first set of cards. Or, perhaps they met someone with spiritual beliefs that they started talking with, who recognised their own gifts. Or they became aware they could see spirit and began to develop their senses.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some psychics discovered their senses much later in life. This may happen due to a specific event, or even by accident. The conclusion therefore, is that we can discover our psychic gifts and how to use them, at any time in our lives.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But, Are We All Psychics?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We all have the capacity to be psychic, but some of us have more developed psychic senses then others. Just like some people are sensitive and emotional people and others are less so, some people have greater developed innate psychic senses and others have less capacity.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But also, as children we are often conditioned to accept or reject the fact that psychic senses exist. Part of this has to do with our upbringing. For example, a person who is born into an existing psychic family, will naturally be more open to using their psychic senses. In fact, their parents or siblings possibly even encouraged them to do so. Likewise, children that are not born into psychic families are often discouraged. People say things like \u201cthere\u2019s no such thing as a ghost\u201d or there\u2019s no such thing as an invisible friend\u201d, or \u201cthat\u2019s all a load of claptrap!\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some adults may even believe in psychic phenomena of one sort or another. However, they wish simply to protect their children from being frightened. Children also have great imaginations. So, sometimes it is clear that it is hard to know what comes from their imagination and what is reality. Often, there is a tendency to try and find a rational explanation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Tough Times for Psychics as Children<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For the psychic child that does have senses and tries to explain these, people often greet them with mixed reactions. Someone who is from a psychic family may well get the response \u201cOf course, dear, that\u2019s completely normal.\u201d\u00a0 They will then accept that psychic senses do exist. They are free to develop their gifts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For a child who has psychic gifts or has a psychic experience<\/a>, but who is from a non-believing family, people may greet them with other reactions. \u201cDon\u2019t lie.\u201d \u201cThat\u2019s not possible.\u201d And so forth. People may even treat them as if there is something wrong with them. If they share their psychic experiences with other children, they may be labelled as being weird.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Effectively therefore, many of us are bought up to ignore our psychic abilities. To quash them, to ignore them. To live in the \u201creal world\u201d.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Not Knowing the Signs<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The other problem in recognising your psychic skills is not knowing what they are.\u00a0 It is sometimes hard to recognise things when they happen. Many of us, for example, may have known who will be at the end of our phoneline when the phone starts to ring. Some of us may have thought that we felt someone behind us in the room, but when we turned around no one was there. Some of us may have impending feelings that something was happening to someone close to us. Later, this turned out to be true.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Often, however, we sweep these thoughts and feelings aside, as there is no logic to them. Thus, we do not recognise them as our psychic gifts working.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When you start to be more conscious of these kinds of events, you are effectively developing your psychic skills. From noting coincidences, to being alert to your senses warning you, take note! These are all showing you proof of your psychic abilities. Using a psychic journal to note these things down can also be useful. The First Steps<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The first step of our psychic journey is simply recognition. Be aware, notice when things happen, don’t dismiss things or think you might have been mistaken. For this is the path of psychic development that will lead us to understanding our own psychic gifts. And once you realise you have such gifts; the universe will gently guide you on your very own path of psychic discovery. Remember, it\u2019s never too late!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
