KARMA: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!<\/h1>\n

Somewhere along our Life Paths<\/a>, we have all come across the word Karma.\u00a0 But do we actually know what it means and how Karma works? If you look up the definition of Karma, it originally means action, effect or fate. If you delve further, there are many different meanings from different religions and cultures. However the essence of them all\u00a0 is that \u201cKarma refers to both the actions and the consequences of the actions taken\u201d! \u00a0Basically, Karma is the law of cause and effect. It is the result of our past and current actions, which help determine our future.<\/p>\n

But how can we be conscious of Karma and change any bad Karma to good? Find out here!<\/p>\n

GOOD or BAD KARMA?<\/h2>\n

Most Eastern religions believe strongly in Karma.\u00a0 It is their belief that Karma is the memory of our souls, stemming from our past lives. Thus, some aspects of our current life are said to be predetermined by what we did or what happened in earlier lifetimes. For some of these aspects, we experience a knock on, or \u201cButterfly effect<\/a>.\u201d This is a continuation, payback, or reward for something that occurred in one or more of our previous lives. For other aspects, what we didn’t finish in a previous lifetime, we come back to finish now.<\/p>\n

But, a lot of people believe in Karma in this lifetime, without even necessarily believing in past lives. It is our belief that Karma is not about punishment and reward but it is related to the fundamental laws of energy. It is therefore possible that through our behaviour and thoughts, we can sow positive seeds. If they flourish, in the sun and the rain, we can harvest them. Also, having a consciousness about what we need to heal in ourselves can lead to release, inner peace and happiness. These are also an important part of the Law of Attraction; very simply creating good energy to receive good energy.<\/p>\n

Throughout history we have been told there is no such thing as luck, only coincidences! But think on!\u00a0 How do you feel when you hear your neighbour has won the Post Code lottery?\u00a0 \u201cWow, that was a stroke of good luck.\u201d or \u00a0\u201cWhy was it him and not me?\u201d\u00a0 But, could this be Karma?<\/p>\n

A BAD KARMA DAY?<\/h2>\n

As we all know, the future is not entirely set in stone.\u00a0 At any time, you can choose to take an action which could change the course of your life. At times, we can feel like we are actually being shown the way. And, at other times we can feel like we are being challenged in a frustrating way. But it is certainly our destiny to do the best we can in life, to try and achieve the best outcome!<\/p>\n

We all get those days when life just doesn\u2019t go the way we want it to.\u00a0 You wake up, get out of bed and stub your toe. \u201cOh no, is it going to be a bad Karma day?!\u201d You then fail to follow up your morning exercise plan, because your toe hurts.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no milk left for a cup of coffee, that interview you were anxiously awaiting gets postponed \u2013 and so it goes on.<\/p>\n

You could choose to see bad karma moments as feeling like the world is out to get you or that those bad thoughts you had about something or someone else are coming back to get you, but is this really the case?<\/p>\n

MINDFUL SOLUTIONS<\/h2>\n

There are many different opinions about why we are experiencing some sort of misfortune, but there is no doubt that we can resolve suffering in the present moment through the teachings of mindfulness and Karma, which are very useful to us all!<\/p>\n

Taking into account the above misfortunes, you could decide that your day is ruined and set off with an attitude that will probably stick with you until bedtime.\u00a0 Alternatively you could stop \u2013 take a deep breath – and restart the day!<\/p>\n

Hey Presto, bad Karma becomes good Karma! Your toe might still be throbbing but it probably won\u2019t be throbbing as badly! In the same way, stopping the spiral of a negative pattern when you recognise it, is often possible.<\/p>\n

CREATING GOOD ENERGY<\/h2>\n

Its not always easy but being kind, helping people less fortunate than yourself or just being polite and treating others as you would like to be treated can create a wonderful feeling. It can help keep your negative emotions in balance and even, from your little acts of kindness, strengthen the society around you. This is good Karma in the making!<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, Karma teaches us that we are all responsible for our own lives and actions and blaming circumstances for our failures time after time isn\u2019t really that helpful. If you keep doing what you\u2019ve always done, you\u2019ll keep getting what you\u2019ve always had.<\/p>\n

GOOD KARMA FOR 2022<\/h2>\n

As we head towards the end of what has been a difficult and challenging year for us all, it is just the right time to have good Karmic thoughts about the new year ahead, both for ourselves as individuals and at a global level.<\/p>\n
