PSYCHICS
Psychic is a generic term for those who have a gift. These people are able to use their 6th sense to give information. The Merriam Webster Dictionary explains that psychic means “sensitive to nonphysical or supernatural forces and influences: marked by extraordinary or mysterious sensitivity, perception, or understanding.”
There are many different types of psychic skills which are used in your psychic readings. They include the gift of clairvoyance, the ability to see beyond the range of ordinary perception. This may include premonitory visions of the future. Or, perhaps the ability of being able to remotely “see” what is going on in the present for the querant or those connected with them.
To be able to read for a specific person, the psychic usually links into the client’s energy. They usually do this via their aura or voice vibration. Their psychic senses then allow them to start seeing, feeling or sensing extra information related to the question that the client has asked them.
RELAYING THE INFORMATION
Most psychics immediately relay what they are picking up to their client as they see it, feel it or sense it. In addition when giving psychic readings, they may be given sharp images. These may or may not be immediately related to the question that has been asked, but that they feel duty bound to pass on. Often, this information IS related in some way, or the client will realise its meaning at a later date.
THE TAROT CARDS
Many psychics use Tarot or Oracle cards during their readings. This is in addition to their psychic senses. Is this because they are not able to pick up anything themselves? The answer to that is no! Many psychics use the Tarot cards because “asking the cards” allows them to use these as a base for the reading. They can answer specific questions with definitive answers based on the cards. These then act as a springboard for the psychic to better see into the situation using their natural gifts to give additional information and advice.
MEDIUMS
Mediums are the middleman. And again, according to the dictionary; “an individual held to be a channel of communication between the earthly world and a world of spirits”. They receive messages through words, visions, and images from the spirit world. They then pass the information onto you. A medium who works by phone links into their caller’s energy. In doing so the Medium is like an open door to the spirit world. Those related to the client may come forward and pass on message via the Medium.
Mediums are also able to sense spirit and advise on who the spirits may be and pick up elements about them. This can be useful if clients experience visitations or feel that they have spirit activity in their home.
A Psychic Medium has both psychic skills and mediumistic skills and can therefore give psychic insight as well as pass on messages from the spirit world.
HEALERS
Spiritual healers are those that are able to send healing energy. There are many forms of spiritual healing and many different types of Spiritual healers. Some have studied techniques such as Reiki healing. They are able to send healing energy at a distance. This knowledge may include the ability to balance chakras, remove blockages, heal emotional situations and scars, send healing to animals and much more.
Other spiritual healers have simply discovered their gift on their spiritual path. Others again use the energy of Crystals and are powerful Crystal healers. Some healers will automatically send you healing vibes as part of their psychic readings, and others will offer you the kind of spiritual healing if they feel it will help you.
ASTROLOGY AND NUMEROLOGY
The ancient arts of Astrology and Numerology have roots that are thousands of years old. They can be helpful in readings. We have many expert astrologers and numerologists who may use their skills during readings. They look at the placement of the planets or number calculations to analyse people and situations, or predict favourable dates or periods to act.
OTHER PSYCHIC TOOLS
There are so many different tools that are used to give readings! We would be at pains to list them all here in great detail! Some of the most popular psychic tools are the Pendulum, ideal for giving yes or no answers, sourcing water or lost items and more. The crystal ball or the art of scrying using crystals, water, mirrors or other transparent materials. The psychic uses these to see images and to boost their own psychic abilities. Angel Cards, which give loving and helpful guidance to the questioner. The Use of Colour is linked to the chakras and may also be used in readings.
COACHES AND CONSELLORS
Some psychics also have extra skills. These usually involve them having studied for some time to achieve a qualification in whichever field they have their expertise. In this case the psychic is able to use their psychic skills to pick up on a client’s situation, and then advise them by using their counselling or coaching skills.

Each psychic is different and has his or her own set of skills. The psychic skill set is a combination of natural psychic gifts, learned skills through education and study and life experience. As the psychic goes through life, their journey changes, their skillset increases, as does their spiritual knowledge.
