HEALING: Pandemic Stress Busters!
Healing, we need some of that to feel back to normal! We all had great hopes for 2021. Now, we are heading towards the end of the year. But how are things for people right now, as we move towards 2022?
Many people are telling us that things are still difficult, they feel a lack of something. Others feel frustrated with life in general! And many more are telling us that the joy they felt before the Covid pandemic has never fully returned. Surely, there is more to life than this? So, what to do about all this?
WHAT IS THE REAL ISSUE?
Previously, we felt we lived in a world where we could go pretty much anywhere. And we felt like we could do pretty much anything. Even though generally speaking, travel has opened up again, there are still restrictions. We can’t go anywhere we want, how we want, moving about with total liberty. And, because of the freedom we had before, on top of what we have experienced this last couple of years, any kind of restriction, especially if different restrictions keep popping up to try us, can really get in out hair!
There is also the feeling that the world and governments control us far more than they used to. People have made decisions for us, and many of us feel this like a weight.
AND IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH….
The Pandemic has been going on for quite some time now, much longer than many people hoped. A lot of us are quite worn out by it and having to deal with other problems alongside it.
The Pandemic has also caused some divisions, at times even between close friends, colleagues or family members. Previously people could just be themselves. Now things are a bit different, Now, one never quite knows what to expect from other people and how they are going to react either.
All of the above can lead to feelings of loneliness, like one is trying to cope on ones own. These gaps can be temporarily filled with moments of joy, but the underlying doubts and issues remain, often without answers. Often, people are spending more time at home than before the Pandemic for one reason or another.
THE NEED FOR HEALING
When put like this, it is hardly surprising that many people are not feeling happy like they were before. 2020 and 2021 have felt like long, never-ending journeys, that have left their mark.
Thus, our daily lives have actually changed in a myriad of ways. Remember also that one cannot go through periods of great stress without properly overcoming and healing it. It is then that we can properly cope, feel happy and keep bringing back things into balance.
HEALING FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The Pandemic, the government, the travel restrictions are what they are. These are things beyond our control. But there are things that are WITHIN your control that you CAN do something about. Here is some food for thought to consider. You may like a pen and paper to help with your thoughts.

BRING BACK MORE OF YOURSELF
When things are imposed upon us and we do not have any choice, we naturally feel under pressure. Recognise this and give yourself a pat on the back for being where you are today. You are here! Now, take a moment to look back over your life. You have been through an awful lot! Review your strong points, your achievements, situations you have overcome. Just for a moment, remember who you truly are.
2.TURN ANY NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE
If you are beating yourself up, or are rueful about something in the past, not having done something recently, or that you could have or should be doing something better, then STOP! If there is something you can do about this now, then set it as a goal to achieve, or to turn around. If there is nothing you can do, then forgive yourself. Take a moment to concentrate on this and purposefully give yourself a talk. Then, move on.

FILING WHATS YOURS and.. WHAT’S NOT!
Worrying or getting frustrated on things that are imposed upon us by governments or external forces will not change anything. So now, do a filing job. What is on your mind that you actually have absolutely no control over and do not have to deal with directly right now? Do some mental filing. Set these points aside, and mentally place these into one box for now.

NOW WHAT CAN YOU DEAL WITH?
Once the uncontrollable outside factors are removed, take a look closer to home, starting with yourself. What do you need to do to make you truly happy? If other people are involved take them out for just one moment and look just at you. What is within your own power to control and to do something about that, can help on your path to happiness? Is there a small routine you can add, a past time or a treat that you could introduce for yourself that would make you feel happier?

EMOTIONAL HEALING
We have all been through such a lot this last couple of years. Do you have stress that needs healing? Have some things changed for you since the pandemic began that has affected you? Have you taken the steps you need to help with the healing process? Identify the emotions that need healing such as grief, frustration, higher stress or anxiety levels. Write them down.

AND NOW FOR THE OTHERS
Understand that hardly anyone has escaped this pandemic with their nerves completely unscathed. But sometimes this cannot be seen on the surface. . Again, the Pandemic has created differences in how we view and interact with certain other people. And in turn, of course, they are affected too. This has led to very complicated interpersonal relationships and needs.
Healing such situations is of key importance, whether you have to put a matter to bed, or try to re[pair something which is less positive than it was before. But if course, people have been affected in different ways and sometimes it is difficult to understand how to do this. Asking people, showing sympathy, opening up discussions, offering help can give unexpected results. Often trying a different angle can lead to breakthroughs in tense situations.
Since the pandemic, we inevitably have greater needs, including those of support and understanding. And if people do not give us what we need, we can feel even more hurt, angry or dissatisfied. Reconciliation, healing blockages in relationships are key to our happiness too

STEPS TO HEALING
Here are some suggestions for healing

Change to the Brain;
If you have any stuck patterns, or have been affected emotionally, this can be healed. Introducing different ways to use your brain is one starter method. Because our mind, body and spirit are all related, stimulating one or the other of these can affect the others too. So, using the brain to read different kinds of materials, or using different media can be a help, for example if you only read on a screen, take up a book for 15 minutes daily. Try different kind of mind stimulating puzzles such as crosswords, sudoku, personality or Mensa tests. You will find you use different parts of your brain, which will promote positive change.

Healing moments of real calm
Often we are rushing around and many of us have too much to do. So when we relax, we just flop down, or sit and watch a screen. But these do not allow our brains to recuperate. Having 10-15 minutes of pure calm on a regular basis can help clear overloaded brains, past stress, emotional strain and much more. You can do this by just finding a quiet space and breathing, allowing your thoughts to float away. Or try a simple form of meditation.

Remember that happiness needs to be permanent, not just a fleeting moment.
Problems do not just go away on their own, they need to be overcome. While we can achieve happiness, during a pleasant evening, with a film or even by eating some chocolate, is not permanent happiness. Understand the different types of happiness that exist. Make the decision to go for gold and lasting happiness. Once this decision has been made and you know what you need to heal, the path becomes easier to tread

You are not alone.
If you are reading this, you are likely to be a spiritual person. Even in your darkest hour, remember you are not alone. Call on your guardian angel, speak with your past loved ones in a quiet moment, but tune into universal energy. Simply relax, ask for help if you need it and see what you receive. After all, what do you have to lose? This can give surprising results and also give you unexpected inner peace.

Movement-
Trying different forms of movement could also be of benefit, such as stretch, yoga, dance. Anything you don’t usually do. Again this can be done for as little as 15 minutes a few times a week. Our emotions are not only heal in our heads, so shifting different parts of your body can shift emotional blockages too.

Be aware of your Chakras or energy centres.
Understand where the blockages are and what needs healing. There are many different methods to heal certain chakras, that can be achieved in a short time frame. Sound therapy, aromatherapy, using a crystal to rebalance your energy, any of these can be surprisingly useful.

In relationships
In relationships, always be the real you. Honesty, openness, showing vulnerability or admitting mistakes with people can get you a long way. You always have choices and different approaches can go a long way to healing.

Healing prayer
You have nothing to lose by asking the Angels, your guides or past loved ones to look after you and help you with some healing. Take a quiet moment, ask and you shall receive!

We are what we eat.
Of course, what you eat and drink is entirely your choice. But purposefully introducing some spiritual foods, healing herbal teas can be a very rewarding and healing experience.

Whatever happens in the outside world, we still have to try and be the best we can. And, above all, to be as happy as we can be. Let’s face it, despite 2021 being less joyful than we hoped, there does seem to be more movement and opportunity. As we head towards 2022, being as happy as you can be and giving yourself moments to work on your inner peace can be extremely rewarding. Take your healing journey, shift any blockages and shine with who you are once again. You will see the world with different eyes and find your power within.
