WHAT ARE THE BELIEF SYSTEMS?

Simply put, belief systems are conditioned thoughts that are built on by old memories of pain and pleasure. Your beliefs are at the core of who you are and influence every aspect of your day-to-day life!
Any successful person will tell you that all their goals and dreams started with a thought. They got out there and lived their lives based on their beliefs about themselves. As Ghandi said “To believe in something, and not to live it, is dishonest.” So, if you believe you are going to be a success, then there is a pretty good chance you will be!
BELIEF SYSTEMS: NEGATIVE BELIEFS
Somewhere along the line, maybe as far back as school, a teacher told you that you would never be good at Maths, and there is an equally good chance that this has stuck with you through life and became what is called a limiting belief!
As a child, did you clean your room so that your parents would be happy with you? Without even realising, this type of motivation becomes a habit and could even develop a mindset of only doing things that helps you gain approval from others. Even if that example doesn’t reflect on how you feel today, we guarantee a belief system you formed in childhood influences your mindset today!
WHAT DOES MINDSET MEAN?
Now you have an idea of what limiting beliefs are, how do we go about changing them?
Step one is to look at the unpleasant thoughts you might have and examine them closely.
False and limiting beliefs are like parasites: they stay inactive in the mind until some thought or event triggers their response. Then they impede people’s ability to think sensibly and rationally, and they affect perceptions and perspective in a destructive manner (Sisgold, 2013).
Here are some of our suggestions to help you overcome your limiting beliefs, which a lot of our Spiritual and Personal Development Psychics practice on a regular basis.
MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is a very popular practice, especially since Covid reared its head. Mindfulness basically means knowing what is going on inside and outside ourselves, moment by moment. Or simply put, to be aware of where we are and what we are doing at any one moment, which in turn stops us feeling overwhelmed by what is going on about us.
As human beings we all possess the ability of Mindfulness, but what we do need to learn is how to access it. Once you have it, it’s a really great tool to have in our quest for overcoming limiting beliefs!
We are all so busy we get caught up in our own thoughts without stopping to notice how those thoughts are driving our emotions and behaviour. So, being mindful helps us to reconnect with the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes in the present moment. IDENTIFY YOUR NEGATIVE BELIEF SYSTEMS
Take a sheet of paper and write down your limiting beliefs. Here are some examples:
- I am no good at my job
- Goodness knows, I will never meet my life partner
- I am never going to pass that exam
Next, take a good look at your list. Decide if your beliefs are a help or a hindrance in your life. You will not be surprised to see that 9/10 times, all your beliefs are a hindrance!
On the same sheet of paper let’s turn those limiting beliefs into empowering new beliefs. Doing this will help you to have a positive core belief!
- I am good at my job, and I will take courses to get better at it
- I am looking for a partner who is perfect for me and have a pleasurable and happy relationship.
- Really, I am working hard to pass that exam
Each day repeat the positive affirmations when you wake up. You will find you get to a point where you can say, “I deserve to be happy and as successful as I want to be!”
MEDITATION
To have more control of your thoughts, take a few minutes a day to meditate. There are many free apps you can download to teach you how to meditate. When you meditate, you free your mind of negative and unwanted thoughts and unwanted ideas. It may take a few goes to get into the practice of meditation but once you do you will become hooked! Meditation will teach you how to calm your mind and once you get past all the clutter in your head, you can focus on your new positive beliefs

And finally, what do you know about the Law of Attraction? Well, it really does speak for itself! The Law of Attraction is a scientific method of sorts. It is a positive road map that helps lay out the quickest route to your dreams, living a life of happiness through believing in yourself and dispelling those limiting beliefs. Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Know Your Purpose – What exactly do you want to manifest? Before you can manifest anything, you need to know what your purpose is. Take some you time to sit quietly and ask yourself this question to get you started.
- Write Down Your Intentions – Once you know what your purpose is, get a piece of paper and write down 5 key intentions you want to work with. The act of writing out your intentions is what activates the manifestation and sets the journey in motion

- Visualise your Happiness – Visualise your life as if you already have what you want in place . Do this on a regular basis and remember that there is nothing in this world you can’t have!
